TG EAPCET Merit Ranking & Normalization Process
The Telangana Council of Higher Education (TGCHE) and JNTU Hyderabad prepare the final TG EAPCET Engineering Merit Rank based on normalized scores across multi-session computer-based tests:
TGCHE Normalization Formula
Because TG EAPCET is conducted in multiple shifts across several days, TGCHE normalizes scores so that no candidate is at an advantage or disadvantage due to paper difficulty variations:
-
100% Entrance Score Ranking: Ranks are determined directly on the normalized TG EAPCET CBT marks out of 160 without 25% IPE weightage.
-
Qualifying Marks Requirement: OC and BC candidates must score a minimum of 40 marks out of 160 (25%) to qualify for ranking and counselling.
-
No Minimum Cutoff for SC/ST: SC and ST candidates are assigned ranks irrespective of minimum marks, provided they have valid hall tickets.
