Gujarat ACPC B.Tech Counseling Guide

1. Mock Round

A trial round conducted by ACPC to help candidates understand their placement chances and practice choice-filling. No seat is permanently secured in this round.

2. Actual Round (Round 1)

The first official seat allotment round. Based on your ACPC Merit Rank, seats are allocated. If you report and pay the token fee, your seat is locked.

3. Reshuffling Round (Round 2)

Conducted for vacant seats. Candidates can choose to reshuffle their choices. If you get a new seat in Round 2, the Round 1 seat is automatically cancelled.

4. Vacant Seat Round

After online rounds, colleges release a list of vacant seats. Candidates apply directly to respective government or private institutes for offline merit-based admission.

5. All India Quota (JEE Main)

Up to 15% seats in self-financed institutes are filled on an All-India basis. Candidates from other states can apply using their JEE Main CRL Rank.

TFW Quota Benefits

Tuition Fee Waiver (TFW) seats waive 100% of the tuition fee for students whose family income is less than ₹8 Lakhs/annum. Requires Gujarat domicile.

Choice-Filling Strategy & Resources

Preparing for Gujarat ACPC B.Tech counseling requires a strategic approach to maximize your admission chances in top-tier colleges like DA-IICT, Nirma University, and LDCE. Use our guidelines, document checklist, and reservation stats to prepare.

Choice-Filling Strategy

A successful choice-filling sequence consists of three distinct segments:

  • 1. Dream Tier (0% - 30% chance): Place top-ranked branches in premium colleges like DA-IICT ICT or Nirma University CSE at the absolute top. Even if your rank is slightly above the cutoff, you might benefit from reshuffling rounds.
  • 2. Realistic Tier (30% - 80% chance): Put colleges (like LDCE, VGEC, or MSU Baroda) where your rank lies perfectly within historical closing cutoffs. These are your target options.
  • 3. Safe Tier (80% - 100% chance): Place at least 3-4 absolute fallback options (like local self-financed colleges or lower branches in government colleges) at the bottom. This prevents ending up with no seat allotted.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is an ACPC Merit Rank and which rank should I enter?
ACPC Merit Rank is the common merit rank issued by the Admission Committee for Professional Courses (ACPC) Gujarat. It is calculated using a formula that weights your Class 12 board percentile (typically 60%) and GUJCET percentile (typically 40%). Home State candidates should enter this merit rank. Other State candidates should enter their JEE Main CRL Rank for All India seats.
How does the Gujarat ACPC Domicile quota work?
Candidates who have studied in Gujarat or hold a Gujarat domicile certificate are eligible for the Home State (GUJ) quota. This covers up to 95% of seats in government and government-aided colleges and includes complete category reservations (SEBC, SC, ST, EWS). Candidates from other states can apply under the All India (AI) quota (often 15% seats in self-financed colleges) based on JEE Main CRL Rank.
What is the Tuition Fee Waiver (TFW) scheme in ACPC?
The TFW scheme provides a 100% waiver on tuition fees for meritorious students. Up to 5% supernumerary seats in each course are reserved for TFW. Candidates must have a Gujarat domicile and a family income below ₹8 Lakhs per annum. TFW cutoff ranks are usually very high.
What is the Reshuffling Round (Round 2) in ACPC?
ACPC conducts Round 2 (Reshuffling Round) for seats that remain vacant after Round 1. Students can participate to upgrade their branch or college. If you get a new allotment in Round 2, your Round 1 admission is automatically cancelled.
Are these predictions 100% guaranteed?
No. These predictions are based on historical cutoff data of previous years' ACPC counseling rounds. Actual cutoffs fluctuate every year depending on factors such as the number of applicants, choice-filling preferences, seat capacity, and student performance. Use this tool as a strong reference for your choice-filling strategy.
