The Four Post-Allotment Choices Explained
Every candidate allotted a seat in COMEDK must exercise one of four designated choices within the specified time window. Failure to exercise a choice results in automatic cancellation and permanent disqualification.
Candidate accepts the allotted seat unconditionally and does not wish to participate in subsequent rounds. Pay full tuition fee online, print Online Allotment Letter & Fee Receipt, and physically report to the allotted college within the reporting deadline.
Candidate is satisfied with the current seat as a guaranteed backup, but wishes to be considered for higher preferred choices in subsequent rounds. Pay the full tuition fee online to hold the seat. If upgraded in the next round, previous seat is automatically transferred; if not upgraded, current seat is retained!
Candidate rejects the currently allotted college/course and releases it back to the general seat pool. Candidate participates in the next round for strictly higher-preference choices only. If no higher seat is allotted later, candidate has NO claim on the rejected seat.
Candidate is completely unsatisfied with the seat and does not want to participate in any subsequent rounds of COMEDK counselling. Candidate exits the admission process permanently. No fees are paid, and the candidate cannot re-enter counselling in later rounds.
⚠️ Critical Warning Regarding Round 3 "Seat Blocking" Penalties
COMEDK implements stringent anti-seat blocking regulations. In Round 3 (the Final Round), there is NO "Accept & Upgrade" or "Reject & Upgrade" option. Any candidate participating in Round 3 who is allotted a seat MUST compulsory join the college. Seat cancellations or surrenders after Round 3 commencement are completely forbidden; the entire fee paid is forfeited, and COMEDK reserves the statutory right to impose an additional penalty of ₹2.0 Lakhs and file legal proceedings.

Academic & Subject Requirements
Candidates must have passed 10+2 / 2nd PUC or equivalent examination recognized by State/Central government. Physics and Mathematics are compulsory subjects, along with Chemistry, Bio-Technology, Biology, Computer Science, or Electronics as an optional subject. English must be passed as a compulsory language.
Minimum Qualifying Marks in PCM
General Merit candidates must score a minimum aggregate of 45% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. For SC, ST, and OBC candidates of Karnataka state, the minimum qualifying mark is 40% aggregate. Outside-state reserved category students are evaluated under General Merit (45% threshold).
All India Open Merit (GM)
COMEDK has no domicile restrictions for General Merit (GM) seats. Students from Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Delhi, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal, and all Indian states compete equally on the basis of their COMEDK UGET CBT rank for top private college seats.
Linguistic Minority Quotas
