Delhi Region (85% Seats) + Outside Delhi Region (15% All India Seats)

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

How does the IPU CET Rank Predictor estimate my GGSIPU rank?
The IPU CET Rank Predictor evaluates your entrance test score out of 400 marks and compares it against historical Common Merit List (CML) distributions from over 50,000+ candidates who appeared in previous GGSIPU entrance tests. It computes your estimated percentile, Common Merit Rank, and branch/college admission forecast taking into account Delhi Region (85%) and Outside Delhi (15%) quota rules.
What qualifies a candidate for the 85% Delhi Region Quota?
A candidate is categorized under the 85% Delhi Region Quota if they completed their qualifying examination (Class 12th or Graduation, depending on the programme) from a school, college, or institute physically located within the National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi, regardless of their residential domicile. Candidates from NCR regions like Noida or Gurugram belong to the 15% Outside Delhi quota.
What is considered a safe score in IPU CET for USICT, MAIT, or MSIT?
For Computer Science (CSE), Information Technology (IT), and AI branches at USICT (Main Campus), a score of 330+ (Rank under 500) is considered very safe for Delhi candidates. For Maharaja Agrasen (MAIT) and Maharaja Surajmal (MSIT), a score of 290–320+ (Rank under 2,000) provides strong admission chances in Round 1 and Round 2.
How does the IPU Online Counselling and Sliding Round work?
GGSIPU conducts 3 main rounds of centralized online counselling followed by a Sliding Round. In each round, seats are allotted based on merit rank and choice filling. Candidates who pay the part academic fee and do NOT freeze their seat automatically slide up to their higher preference colleges in subsequent rounds and the Sliding Round. Vacant seats after Sliding Round are filled via Spot Counselling.
Is there any negative marking in the IPU CET examination?
Yes, IPU CET implements negative marking. For every correct answer, candidates receive +4 marks. For every incorrect answer, 1 mark is deducted (-1 mark). Unanswered or skipped questions carry zero marks.
How are ties resolved if two candidates obtain the same IPU CET score?
In case of equal marks in IPU CET, GGSIPU resolves ties based on: (1) Higher marks in the primary subject component specified for that CET code (e.g. Mathematics/Biology), (2) Lesser number of incorrect responses across the test, and (3) Age of candidate (the older candidate receives preference in rank).
